The European summer may be almost ending, but September is still there to enjoy the best of the Mediterranean beaches. One of the directors of the French group LVMH, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared with JG03 Saint Tropez most exclusive hot spots.
Saint Tropez is a traditional summer destination for the French with spectacular beaches and a turquoise blue sea. It is close to Cannes and Nice. To do well at Saint Tropez, it is interesting to understand how the vacationers act. Many French traditional families have houses there for decades, some for even more than 300 years and every year they move there during the summer. On august, Paris is empty because everyone moves down to the coast, following rituals that do not change and making thus the south of France a familiar place for the habitués. Everyone attend the same places for years with very specific behavioral codes.
Uninformed tourists may get there and immediately feel they do not belong, no matter how much money they have. With the help of this fast guide, it will be possible to enjoy peacefully the best of this Mediterranean paradise since you always book your reservations in advance. French are very restricted concerning this matter. At some places, such as Club 55 it is better to have even the beach chairs booked in advance not to bump into the door.
Ermitage Hotel and Tigrr Indochine
Ermitage Hotel is the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. The building is an old nineteenth century villa that kept both the authenticity of the time and the building façade. Inside, 24 suites present a unique décor, each one in its own way created by artists and designers such as Marc Newson, Jean Pigozzi and Chloé Sevigny. The hotel has a life of its own; there is always something different happening. The O Café Hôtel Ermitage is an ambience that mixes art with Mathieu Matégot and Jean Prouvé vintage furnishings. The cozy ambience looks like an old apartment. Outside, at TIGrr Indochine is where the most interesting encounters happen. A restaurant that starts with a drink and an unforgettable sunset view to later serve a contemporary Asian dinner. At the end of the evening, the DJ plays a style that flows from ‘70s funk to house and disco, and includes some French classics. This is one of those addresses we only share with our best friends.

Opened in 1955 at Plage de Pampelonne, Club 55 is a legendary destination in St Tropez. A restaurant where the sand will be in your feet offers a beach service and still has a pier to host the boat travelers. Here, the French make their reservations months before the summer, book the tables for lunch and the beach services available. The restaurant serves the most traditional French dishes, like stake tartare e beef bourguignon. The reservations can only be booked from midday to 4 p.m. It has been working this way for more than half a century. Instead of electronic beats, here only silence and the sea sounds. The store at the entrance is great for buying the pieces that the locals wear where they buy them, besides pretty fabrics and home accessories.

Even with all the tradition, you can find innovation at St-Tropez. Sezz hotel, a branch of the Paris address that shares the same name, is a boutique hotel full of peculiarities that promotes unpretentious luxury. The best of the old-world. For the guests, no reception but a personal assistant that will take care of all your stay – since dinners, reservations, yoga classes and day trips to other beaches. However, the hotel’s pool is the hotspot of the 2016 summer. It has a minimalistic aesthetics, which even in harmony with nature manages to display a futurist atmosphere.
