After creative director Hedi Slimane left Saint Laurent earlier this year, Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello assumed the roll and promises one of the most anticipated shows of the spring summer 2017 Paris Fashion Week, which begins on September 27. He is now in charge of one of the most important brands of the globe.
As a teaser of what is coming up, the brand’s Instagram @ysl began an innovative project, deleting the entire archive and starting a new moment with Vaccarello’s creative vision. Former Versus creative director, Anthony is so into his newrole that he has announced the closure of his own brand, so that he could dedicate 100% of his time to Saint Laurent.
The first pictures that flooded the internet and billboards all over Europe are all black & white and doesn’t present any clothes, as models are nude.
Last week though, a picture of model Anja Rubik, photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadinappeared, flooded the internet and offered a glimpse of what is yet to come.
In a typical Parisian location, the model appears – her hair covering her face – wearing an embroidered sexy bathing suit, with rich metal structures and a denim jacket. Only.
The designer, known for an extremely sexy and womanly fashion, using fissures and cutouts as his signature style, should keep his game, but aggregating some codes of his new house. It is a huge responsibility to replace Hedi Slimane, one of fashion’s most celebrated names of the twenty-first century. Now, let’s wait and see.
